I see any patient that has been suffering with chronic pain. Who would like to reduce their suffering and improve their vitality by using lifestyle medicine, behavioral health techniques, science of pain, movement and self-compassion.
Cash based practice is that you pay cash for the initial visit and the following visits, in return you get a super bill for qualifying candidates, which you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement. I don’t bill your insurance.
This is very individualized. Some patients prefer being seen every week; some prefer being seen once a month. What I have learnt in my practice that I prefer seeing my patients for 2 visits back to back weekly and then we mutually decide the frequency. My individual data shows that I see my chronic pain patients on an average for 6 visits total irrespective of the diagnosis.
Pain Coaching puts you in the driver’s seat. You will begin to learn about how pain is processed in the nervous system and how you can begin to rewire your body to change your experience of pain.
Additionally, you will be empowered to make changes that will help you to improve the quality of your life meeting you exactly where you are.
Ummm no. Pain is an individual experience there are no guarantees.
Secondly, coaching is about making lifestyle changes. These lifestyle changes will begin to change your body emotionally and physically.
The results will depend on where you start and where the process takes you. Rather than thinking of “cures” and quick “fixes”, it is more advantageous to think of lifestyle transformations that will be conducive to a life that you can live with more vitality, purpose and contentment.
No, you don’t. All you need is to be curious about the process of the science of pain. Be willing to make some changes that you feel you are ready to make. I will walk you through the process.
You can schedule a 15 min session to see if our sessions will meet your needs.
People who have tried all kinds of therapies have been frustrated with the results. Patients with multiple failed surgeries. Complex diagnosis multiple conditions that are overlapping eg- diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity etc. Patients that are curious. Patients are ready to take their health in their hands and start self-management.
Patients that come with a “fix me” expectation. I am not the right coach for you. I prefer the “guide me” expectation much better. As I will walk with you in your journey- at times ahead of you and other times behind you and most of the time right next to you.
Since the pandemic I have been seeing patients on Telehealth regularly and it is as effective as seeing patients in person. As a large number of my patients could not travel due to gas prices, or being in too much pain to travel. I can do a very effective biopsychosocial assessment on Telehealth.
Here is an article to learn more about telehealth and pain. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8108593/
