About
Hi! I am Sharna Prasad, PT DPT. I have a passion for treating complex chronic pain, which has been my caseload exclusively for the last eight years. My chronic pain patients are like the 1,500 piece puzzles I so love doing.
My Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy is from India, M.S University, Vadodara. I completed my transitional doctorate in 2019 with the International Spine and Pain Institute. I am also a Therapeutic Pain Specialist with 500+ hours of training in continuing education exclusive to the Science of Pain. I am trained in Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT) which I integrate into my clinical practice. In 2023 I obtained a diploma in Lifestyle medicine which has been an extraordinarily durable foundation for my practice. I also integrate the social determinants of health and trauma-informed care, and am very particular about health literacy.
My values are authenticity, honesty, trust, respect, and fairness. The core of my practice is aligned with this quote:
I will not rescue you for you are not powerless.I will not fix you for you are not broken
I will not heal you for I see you in your wholeness
I will walk with you through the darkness as you remember your lightby Sheree Bliss Tilsley
As a coach, my job is to be curious about your journey; every person knows intuitively what their body needs for them to heal, but often that wisdom has not been tapped into, yet. My practice is patient-centered and value-based. Your time spent with me needs to be of value to you. You need to be able to get your time and money’s worth spending time with me.
Your journey is unique. I hope I can walk with you and guide you in transitioning from a life of pain and suffering to a life of vitality. My purpose in life is to learn, practice and share. Anything I learn I spend a lot of time practicing before I share it with anyone. I am humbled with how much my patients teach me every day about how to be a better human being.
Schedule a 15 min meet and greet call with me to see if I would be a good match for you. Then you can decide if you would like to continue or not.
With kindness and love,
Sharna

- Video: Navigating the Language of Pain | Sharna Prasad, DPT
Language is the method of human communication. The language of pain is the communication between our clients and our providers. We as providers are sometimes missing the key words used, the metaphors that are telling a story, the body language that is sharing their emotions. We will explore through storytelling and humor how the language of pain once heard can be reconceptualized with compassion and humanity.
